"Jalisco en Calexico" May 12th Mariachi Festival “Kick Off” Mixer Hosted by Calexico Chamber of Commerce/Parking Lot under Tents @Hometown Buffet May 13th Decorating Contest “Mariachi Themed” Store Fronts and Government Offices Hosted by City of Calexico Beautification Commission and Centennial Committee. Salsa Tasting Contest @ Calexico City Hall. Recognition of Mariachi Festival Committee. May 14th Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for State of Jalisco Artesanias Exhibit & Sale, City of Calexico Cultural Arts Center. Event hosted by City of Calexico Arts Commission and Calexico Arts Council. *Artesanias exhibit and sale will continue May 13th through May 17th) May 15th Centennial and Mariachi Festival Committees “Kick-Back” Soiree @ Applebee’s Calexico. May 16th Feria Del Tequila honoring the State of Jalisco Mexico. Jalisco Ballet Folklorico, Mariachi and Tequila Tasting at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Hall. Event will include Mexican food and dancing. Guests of honor will include Mexican Consul, Representatives from the State of Jalisco, Calexico City Council, representatives from Imperial Valley Joint Chambers of Commerce. May 17th 17th Annual Mariachi Festival Sin Fronteras Concert featuring Mariachi Sol de Mexico, Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles and Los Reyes del Valle. Special guests from the State of Jalisco include Ballet Folklorico and a Mariachi group. Artesanias will be on sale and Tequila tasting during evening of concert.
