Program: This First Time Homebuyer Program is funded by the State of California CDBG, CalHOME, and HOME program to assist low to moderate income families. The programs offer downpayment assistance to first time homebuyer qualified applicants for purchase of an existing  qualifying home in the City of Calexico.

Eligibility:
To be eligible for the FTHB program assistance the first time homebuyer must:

Loan Amount: 
The eligible buyer may qualify for a downpayment assistance of up to $40,000.

Down Payment:
 Buyer must provide 3% down payment of purchase price.

Interest:
The interest rate will be 1%.
 
Collateral: 
The city will record a second Deed of Trust and promissory note to the property. 
 
Other: The home will be inspected before purchase and annual verifications will be conducted. FTHB 5/09
