2026 General Municipal Election

 


NOTICE OF ELECTION

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a General Municipal Election will be held in the City of Calexico on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 for the following Officers:

 

For (2) Members

of the City Council                                       (Full term of four (4) years)

 

 

The nomination period for these offices begins on Monday, July 13, 2026 and closes Friday, August 7, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

 

If nomination papers for an incumbent officer of the city are not filed by August 7, 2026 (the 88th day before the election), the voters shall have until the 83rd day before the election, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, to nominate candidates other than the person(s) who are the incumbents on the 88th day before the election, for that incumbent’s elective office. This extension is not applicable where there is no incumbent eligible to be elected.

 

If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by § 10229, Elections Code of the State of California.

 

The vote center locations and hours of operations, ballot drop box locations and hours of operations, vote-by-mail procedures and timing, the election officers, and all other persons and procedures for the General Municipal Election shall be the same as those utilized by the County of Imperial and in compliance with the Elections Code of the State of California.  On election day, the polls will be open between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.

Political Campaign Signs cannot be posted within city limits until August 5, 2026.
