Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways:

b) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 to cityclerk@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.  Public comments will be distributed to the City Council for their consideration and made available for public inspection.  Public comments will not be read aloud by the City Clerk during the council meeting.  They will be retained for the official record of the City.

c) Via Zoom by submitting the request via Zoom Chat.  Persons should submit name and section of the agenda they wish to speak on such as "General Public Comments" or "Agenda Item No."

A “Closed” Session of the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/ Calexico Financing Authority may be held in accordance with state law which may include, but is not limited to, the following types of items: personnel matters, labor negotiations, security matters, providing instructions to real property negotiators and conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation. The Closed Session will be held in the City Hall Conference Room located at 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California. Any public comment on Closed Session items will be taken before the Closed Session. All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are to be considered routine by the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/Calexico Financing Authority/Planning Commission and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed. Any item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately by the City Council.


5.  Authorize City Manager or his Designee to Sign a Work-Study Contract Agreement with Imperial Valley College (IVC) for Fiscal Year 2026-27.

 

6.  Authorize City Manager or his Designee to Sign Training Agreement with the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program (IVROP) to Place Project Connect Program Participants in City of Calexico’s Departments from June 18, 2026, through June 30, 2027.

13.  Discussion of Proposed Ordinance Requiring Allocation of 58% of Unrestricted General Fund Revenues to Police and Fire Departments through Fiscal Year 2047.

 

14.  Adopt the following Resolutions of the City Council of the City of Calexico, California Relating to the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election for the City of Calexico:

a)    A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico, California calling for the placement of a Special Tax Measure on the ballot for the November 3, 2026, General Municipal election for the submission to the Qualified Voters of an Ordinance to enact a Special Public Safety Transactions and Use (Sales) Tax for 20 Years, at the initial rate of One-Half Percent (1/2%), Increasing to One Percent (1%) upon the sunset of Measure H.

b)    A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico, California, requesting the Board of Supervisors of the County of Imperial to consolidate a General Municipal Election to be held on November 3, 2026, with the Statewide General Election to be held on that date Pursuant to §10403 of the Elections code.

c)     A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico, California, providing for the filing of Direct and Rebuttal Arguments and Setting Rules for the filing of Written Arguments regarding a City Measure to be submitted at the November 3, 2026, General Municipal Election.
