CALL TO ORDER.

Public participation will continue to be available in the following ways: Members of the public are encouraged to watch the meeting via live stream at the Calexico City Hall Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/CityofCalexicoCA    at 6:30 p.m.

Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways:
a) In-person comments.
b) Submit public comments via email by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 to cityclerk@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.

The Mayor will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record. While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks. The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. Please direct your questions and comments to the City Council.

 

ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION.

A “Closed” Session of the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/ Calexico Financing Authority may be held in accordance with state law which may include, but is not limited to, the following types of items: personnel matters, labor negotiations, security matters, providing instructions to real property negotiators and conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation. The Closed Session will be held in the City Hall Conference Room located at 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California. Any public comment on Closed Session items will be taken before the Closed Session. Any required announcements or discussion of Closed Session items or actions following the Closed Session will be made in the City Council Chambers, 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California.

CONSENT AGENDA

All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are to be considered routine by the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency or Calexico Financing Authority and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed. Any item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately by the City Council.

 

2.  Approve and Authorize the Acting City Manager to Sign Professional Services Agreement with AmeriNational Community Services.

 

3. Approval of Revised Job Description for Wastewater Systems Supervisor. 

 

4. Adoption of Resolution No. 2024-___ Approving a Memorandum of Understanding Between the City of Calexico and the Calexico Municipal Employees’ Association (CMEA) for the Term Beginning July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025.

 

5. Adopt a Resolution No. 2024-____ Releasing the Development Agreement Recorded in 2011 between Hallwood Calexico Investments, LLC and the City of Calexico for the Development of the 111 Calexico Place Project Located South of Jasper Road and West of Highway 111 at the Northwest Corner of City Limits.

6.   Public Hearing to Consider Resolution No. 2024___. A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Adopting Water and Sewer Service Charges and Making Certain Findings and Taking Certain Actions Relating Thereto.

a)    Conduct a public hearing to consider adopting increases to the water and sewer services charges.

b)    If there is no majority protest, adopt a Resolution No. 2024-___, A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Adopting Water and Sewer Service Charges and Making Certain Findings and Taking Certain Actions Thereto.

 

7.   Adopt a Resolution No. 2024-___ of the City Council of the City of Calexico Authorizing the Acting City Manager or His Designee to Endorse the Master Agreement, Program Supplement Agreements, Fund Exchange Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and Any Amendments Entitled “Administering Agency – Federal and/or State Funded Project” for Project No. LPPSB1L-5168 (034).

 

8.   Imperial Irrigation District Public Green Space Grant:

a)   Adopt a Resolution No. 2024-__  of the City Council of the City of Calexico Authorizing the Acting City Manager or His Designee to Endorse the Master Agreement, Fund Agreements, Fund Transfer Agreements and Any Amendments Entitled “Administering Agency – Imperial Irrigation District Tree for All Public Green Space Grant” for Rodriguez Park Baseball Field.

b)    Adopt a Budget Amendment Resolution No. 2024-___ for Fund No. 299-91-914.

 

9.   Renovations to Calexico Fire Station No. 2

a)    Authorize the Acting City Manager to Sign Change Order No. 13 with A&N Quality Builders in the Amount of $15,505.00 for the Renovations to Calexico Fire Station No. 2.

b)    Adopt a Budget Amendment Resolution No. 2024-___  for Fund No. 255 – American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the Amount of $15,505.00 for the Calexico Fire Station No. 2.

 

10.  Adopt a Budget Amendment Resolution No. 2024-___ for Fund No. 255 – American Rescue Plan (ARPA) in the Amount of $15,000.00 for the Termite Treatment and for the Replacement of Air Conditioning Unit at the Community Center.
