Due to the Declaration of Emergency, this meeting is being held pursuant to authorization from the Governor’s Executive Orders. Some or all of the city council members may participate in this meeting by teleconference as authorized by Executive Order N-29-20 issued by the Governor of California on
March 17, 2020.

Until further notice, there will be no public access to City Council meetings, however, public participation is available in the following ways:

These proceedings may be viewed on the City of Calexico website at the Friday following the City Council meeting. 

Community office hours with Mayor Hodge have been suspended due to Coronavirus (COVID-19).  Community Office hours will resume on May 26, 2020 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at City Hall in the City Manager’s Conference Room, 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico.

NOTE:  (Not to Exceed 3 Minutes) This is the time for the public to address the City Council on the Special Agenda Items only.  During the current State of Emergency public comments submitted via email by the 2:00 p.m. deadline of May 13, 2020, will be read aloud and entered into the record.  Any comments received during or after the meeting will be distributed to the City Council and retained for the official record.  The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda.   


1. Presentation by Police Chief Gerardo on the Calexico Police Department Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

2. Presentation by Fire Chief Favila on the Fire Department Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.

3. Presentation by Finance Director Lobatos on the Finance Department Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2021.
