Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways:

a) In-person comments.

b) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2025 to cityclerk@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.  Public comments will be distributed to the City Council for their consideration and made available for public inspection.  Public comments will not be read aloud by the City Clerk during the council meeting.  They will be retained for the official record of the City.

PUBLIC COMMENTS AND PUBLIC APPEARANCES:  Non-Agenda Items (Limited to a maximum of 30 minutes.  If additional time is required for public comments, they will be heard towards the end of the meeting, after Discussion and Potential Action Items”).
 
NOTE: (Not to Exceed 3 Minutes) This is the time for the public to address the City Council on any item not appearing on the agenda that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. The City Clerk will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record. While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks. Group commentators may be requested to limit their group comments to 15 minutes.  The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. If the item you wish to comment on is on the public portion of the agenda, we will take your comment when we get to the item on the agenda. Please direct your questions and comments to the City Council.  The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to adjust this time limit based on the number of speakers who wish to address the Mayor and City Council.

8.  Authorize Public Works Director/City Engineer to Sign Change Order No. 3 with Rove Engineering, Inc. in the Amount of $39,888.00 for Scaroni Road Pavement Rehabilitation State Project No. LPPSB1L-5168(034).

 

9.  Authorize City Manager to Issue Purchase Order to Red One Electric, Inc. in the Amount of $62,276.00 for Electrical Services in Order to Connect Three (3) Mobile Clarifiers During the Rehabilitation of Clarifier “B” and “C” Project at Water Treatment Plant.

 

10.   Appointment of Delegate Member and Alternate Member to the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) 2026 Regional Conference and General Assembly May 7-8, 2026 in Palm Desert, CA.

 

11.  Appointment of One Representative and One Alternate Representative to serve on the Imperial County Air Pollution Control District (ICAPCD) Advisory Board Committee.

14.  Strategic Reduction of Planning & Building Permit Fees to Encourage Legal Construction, Support Economic Development, Enhance Safety, and Offset Cumulative Cost Burdens Including High School Impact Fees.

 

15.  Special Public Safety Sales Tax – Detailed Expenditure Plan and Council Action Request.

 
16.  Discussion and Potential Action to Direct the City Manager to Develop a Downtown Business Parking Pass Program Providing Two to Three Free Parking Passes per Business.
