Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways:

a) In-person comments.

b) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 to cityclerk@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.  Public comments will be distributed to the City Council for their consideration and made available for public inspection.  Public comments will not be read aloud by the City Clerk during the council meeting.  They will be retained for the official record of the City.

The City Clerk will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record. While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks. Group commentators may be requested to limit their group comments to 15 minutes. The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. Please direct your questions and comments to the City Council.

A “Closed” Session of the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/ Calexico Financing Authority may be held in accordance with state law which may include, but is not limited to, the following types of items: personnel matters, labor negotiations, security matters, providing instructions to real property negotiators and conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation. The Closed Session will be held in the City Hall Conference Room located at 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California. Any public comment on Closed Session items will be taken before the Closed Session. Any required announcements or discussion of Closed Session items or actions following the Closed Session will be made in the City Council Chambers, 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California.

CONSENT AGENDA


All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are to be considered routine by the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/Calexico Financing Authority/Planning Commission and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed. Any item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately by the City Council.

 

10.  Approval of City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/Calexico Financing Authority/Planning Commission Minutes for the Meeting of March 18, 2026.


11.  Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager, or Designee, to Execute Grant Application in the Amount of $30,000.00, Grant Agreements, and any Amendments Thereto with the California Arts Council for the General Operating Support Grant.

 

12.  Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager or his Designee to Execute the FY 2026-27 California Library Literacy Services Grant Program and Authorize the City Manager and Fiscal Agent to Sign the Grant Application, Certification, Award Agreement and Certificate of Compliance and any Amendments Thereto; and any Related Documents Necessary to Participate in the Program.

15.  Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution to Reallocate Fund No. 255- American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the Amount of $126,354.00 for Request for Bid for Vegetation Removal and Weed Control at Various Retention Basins.

 

16.  Authorize City Manager to Sign Joint Use Agreement Between the City of Calexico and the Calexico Unified School District for $118,331.58 for a Total of Combined Estimated Cost of $127,225.58 for the Use of Pool Facilities and the Operation of Summer Pool Program 2026.


17.  Adoption of a Resolution Approving a Temporary Development Impact Fee Waiver and Parking Requirement Reduction for Development within the Historic Core of Calexico Effective Through June 30, 2029.

 

18.  Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution to Reallocate Fund No. 255 – American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the Amount of $349,279 from Non-Departmental Various Projects to the

Purchase of Thermoplastic Striping Equipment, Asphalt Crack Sealing Equipment and Supplemental Funding for Temporary Part-Time Employees for Various Street Maintenance projects.


19.  Adopt Budget Amendment Resolution to Reallocate Fund No. 255-American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) in the amount of $250,000 for the Purchase of Surveillance Cameras and Accessories for Various Parks, Fields and Retention Basins.


20.  FY 2025-2026 Street Improvement Project on Designated Streets.
