Members of the public will be able to make public comments in the following ways:

a) In-person comments.

b) Submit public comments via email by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 to cityclerk@calexico.ca.gov or via fax to (760) 768-2103.

(Not to Exceed 3 Minutes) This is the time for the public to address the City Council on Closed Session Items only. The Mayor will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record. While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks. The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. Please direct your questions and comments to the City Council.

A “Closed” Session of the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/ Calexico Financing Authority may be held in accordance with state law which may include, but is not limited to, the following types of items: personnel matters, labor negotiations, security matters, providing instructions to real property negotiators and conference with legal counsel regarding pending litigation. The Closed Session will be held in the City Hall Conference Room located at 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California. Any public comment on Closed Session items will be taken before the Closed Session. Any required announcements or discussion of Closed Session items or actions following the Closed Session will be made in the City Council Chambers, 608 Heber Avenue, Calexico, California.

8. Ratification of a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Calexico Pursuant to Public Contract Code (PCC) Section 20168 Finding that an Emergency Existed Due to the Need to Repair One (1) Collapsed Sewer Manhole Well at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Authorizing Contracting Without Competitive Bidding a Contract Pursuant to PCC Section 22050 in the Amount of $149,447.77. (Public Works Manager)

 

9. Approval and Adoption of the Public Works Analyst Job Description and Relevant Salary Range. (H.R./R.M. Manager)

14. Introduction and First Reading by Title Only of an Ordinance Adding Section 2.27.035 to the Calexico Municipal Code Regarding Community Services Commission Meetings. (Recreation Manager)

 

15. Adopt a Resolution Declaring Both a 0.47-Acre and 0.27-Acre Property Located at 330 East 3rd Street (APNs 058-484-002 and 058-484-003) as Surplus Land and Authorize the Initiation of the Notification Process as Prescribed by the Surplus Act. (Planning and Building Services Director)

 

16. Reallocation of $457,612.57 from Essential Worker Relief Program funded by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) for several activities.

18. Resolution calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza, an end to the blockade of critical humanitarian aid, release of all hostages, and condemning antisemitic, anti-Palestinian, and Islamophobic rhetoric and attacks.
