NOTE: (Not to Exceed 3 Minutes)  This is the time for the public to address the City Council on any item not appearing on the agenda that is within the subject matter jurisdiction of the City Council. The City Clerk will recognize you and when you come to the microphone, please state your name and place of residence for the record. While members of the public are encouraged to participate, it is unlawful to disturb or delay the Council meeting with personal or slanderous remarks. Group commentators may be requested to limit their group comments to 15 minutes.  The City Council is prohibited by State law from taking action or discussing items not included on the printed agenda. If the item you wish to comment on is on the public portion of the agenda, we will take your comment when we get to the item on the agenda. Please direct your questions and comments to the City Council.  The Mayor and City Council reserve the right to adjust this time limit based on the number of speakers who wish to address the Mayor and City Council. 

 

All matters listed under the Consent Calendar are to be considered routine by the City Council/Calexico Community Redevelopment Agency Successor Agency/Calexico Financing Authority/Planning Commission and will be enacted by one motion in the form listed. Any item may be removed from the Consent Calendar and considered separately by the City Council.

6.  Approval of Mutual Aid Agreement C5612844 Between the Calexico Fire Department and the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation – Calipatria State Prison.

 

7.  Strategic Authorization to Apply for the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant (Q4 2025) – Vital Funding Opportunity to Support Fire Department Equipment and Safety Enhancements.

 

8.  Second and Final Reading by Title Only of an Ordinance Amending Calexico Municipal Code Section 2.04.060 Regarding City Council Agenda Order of Business.

 

9.  Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Execute the FY 2025-26 Zip Books Grant Program and Authorize the City Manager or his Designee to Sign the Grant Application, Certification, Award Agreement and Certificate of Compliance and any Amendments Thereto; and any Related Documents Necessary to Participate in the Program.

 

10.  Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager or his Designee to Execute the FY 2025-26 California Library Literacy Services Grant Program and Authorize the City Manager and Fiscal Agent to Sign the Grant Application, Certification, Award Agreement and Certificate of Compliance and any Amendments Thereto; and any Related Documents Necessary to Participate in the Program.

 

11.  Authorize City Manager or his Designee to Sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Catholic Charities to Place Foster Grandparent Program Participants at the Camarena Memorial Library to Provide Tutoring Services for the Period of 6/1/25 to 6/30/28.
