Assembly Bill 2854 (AB 2854) Sales Tax Sharing Agreement Disclosure
In accordance with Assembly Bill 2854, effective January 1, 2025, the City of Calexico is required to annually disclose certain information related to tax revenue sharing agreements involving local Bradley-Burns sales and use tax revenues.
This includes any agreement that results in the direct or indirect payment, transfer, diversion, or rebate of local sales tax revenue. The purpose of this law is to enhance transparency and ensure public access to information regarding the use of public tax dollars.
Each year, the City must:
- Report agreement details to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA), and
- Publish the same information on the City’s website.
