NOTICE AND SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 2025-1240

 

 An Ordinance of the City Council of the City Of Calexico, California, Ordinance No. 2025-1240 – Amending Calexico Municipal Code Chapters 2.19, 2.27, 2.28, 2.31 and 2.56 Regarding General Commission Procedures, Community Service Commission, Planning Commission, and Community Police Advisory, Traffic and Code Enforcement Commission and Adding a Community Facilities District Commission.

 

Notice is hereby given that on February 5, 2025, the City Council of the City of Calexico will consider the adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-1240 amending Title 2 of the Calexico Municipal code dealing with Commissions.  The following is a summary of the proposed Ordinance.  If adopted the Ordinance would:

 

  • Establish an application, interview, and appointment and removal processes, including identifying who may make appointments.
  • Remove the compensation/stipend the commission, board or committee currently receives.
  • Have the commissions, boards or committees meet monthly instead of quarterly.
  • Remove the Planning Commission and designate the City Council as the Planning Agency for the City.
  • Establish a Community Facilities District Commission consisting of five members.
  • Add Traffic and Code Enforcement to the Community Police Advisory Commission.
